Hi all,
It has been a while ago.....but finally I have internet available!
I've been cycling for a month with three Americans: Curt, Steve and Karen.
It is a nice change to cycle with some people again. They are relaxed and we have a lot of fun.
We visited Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. We did a bus tour, since it is not a lot of fun cycling in the parks. A lot of traffic and almost no shoulder next to the road.
From the last point in Wyoming we cycled through Idaho (72 miles) and a large part of Montana. The last state in the US on this trail. It is a beautiful place for mountainbiking. Many singletrack opportunities. And it is very green, the cause of this is mainly rain.....not to often fortunately.
Now I'm in Glacier National Park. The plan was a bus tour again since some of the main road is off limits sometime during the day (between 11am and 4 pm)
We got here saturday 22nd and heared that a rockslide blocked Logan Pass (which is on the mainroad through the park).
We will wait sunday and hopefully we are able to do the tour monday.
After this it is only 4 days cycling to the Canadian border where I will go further into Canada to Banff and Jasper.

Waarschijnlijk ben je nu inmiddels in Canada. Merk je veel verschil in mentaliteit van de mensen?
Zijn je amerikaanse vrienden meegefietst tot hier, of ben je weer alleen? Wij zijn net terug van vakantie. Een stuk minder spectaculair als jij (we waren in de kop van Noordholland....).
Maar wel relaxed!

hoi jelle, super hoor. canada is mooi maar wel lange wegen om te fietsen. maar dat ben je nu wel gewend. misschien kun je ook nog naar vancouver island; is mij destijds niet gelukt maar ga ik vast nog eens doen. schijnt heel mooi te zijn. en dan met de boot naar alaska.... of wanneer kom je ook al weer terug?
N-Spanje met cycle tours was weer goed; met esther, erik en harold geweest. heel mooi al is de hele groep (28) allemaal wel minstens 1 dag ziek geweest... het water denk ik.
